Face the Sun

“I am not hard.

Not cold.

Not unfeeling or

Without compassion.

Instead I’m soft.

I’m strong like flowers are strong.

I withstand storms.

When morning comes I face the sun

Petals-unaffected

by the thunder and the rain.

I have a voice.

But having a voice doesn’t mean

You have to prove it.

Having a voice means

existing in the blooming simply because that’s your purpose.

It means you don’t have to say anything

to say everything,

simply by standing

and facing the sun.
